Division of the Courts

Open Court Room

The Court has one Open Court Room, where civil proceedings, hearings, trials, and the delivery of judgments are conducted under the supervision of the Presiding Judge.

Judge

The Court is presided over by one District Judge, who exercises the judicial powers and jurisdiction vested in the District Court under the laws of Sri Lanka.

Office Building

The Court operates from one Office Building, which houses the administrative offices responsible for case management, record maintenance, document processing, and public services.

Registrar's Room

The Court has one Registrar's Room, occupied by the Registrar, who is responsible for the administration of court records, the filing and processing of cases, the issuance of certified copies, and other statutory administrative functions.

Civil and commercial disputes, money recovery claims, contract disputes, and damages claims.

Land & Property Matters

Land and property matters, partition and declaration actions.

Testamentary & Estate Cases

Testamentary and probate proceedings, estate administration of deceased persons.

Insolvency & Guardianship Matters

Insolvency matters, guardianship and related civil proceedings, and management of the persons/properties of individuals of unsound mind.

Family & Matrimonial Disputes

Matrimonial and family matters vested in the District Court, including divorce, judicial separation, and custody of children.

Other Civil Matters

Other civil matters conferred by law upon the District Court.
